Tina

Tina was brought into the shelter on Monday July 6th and was so scared that she looked like she was stuck to the side of the cage. Today she was much better. It is really sad to see older cats brought into the shelter. There are so many people that want kittens and ignore the older cats. She is a very nice girl. I think she is around 5 years old, she is probably spayed but no way of telling unless her tummy is shaved. It would be great to actually see people adopted older cats more often.

**UPDATE** Saturday I sent the day trimming all the nail of the cats & kittens. I found that Tina was front declawed so that pretty must tells us that she is also spayed. This gal is so sweet. She loves all the attention you can give her. She will show off begging for attention. I sure hope she finds a home soon. ***

I try to remind people that with a kitten you really do not know what you are getting. Kittens are usually very hyper and full of action and fun. Older cats can be that way but for the most part they have calmed down some and it is usually easier to know if they are lovers and loners.
Tina was rescued and is sure to fine a good home. She is a great cat.

Lizzy

Case in point is one of my cats. She appeared to be a little lover and was so cute. She had been at the shelter for over a month and was due to be EU'd when my husband said no way. After spending so much time with her he knew he didn't want to see her put to sleep. She loved to be held by him and loved to rub her head on his goatee. Now after 4 years we have found that she would have been so much better as an only cat but what can you do. We have been trying to find a her a good home but most people want a little lover and Lizzy isn't that. At least she will never get to prove she could be while she lives with us. Still she is here and we still love her and keep trying to help make her life easier.

But as a kitten she was one type of cat and as an adult another. People need to be aware of that more often and go for something they can tell more about than just a cute little baby.
